Men's Basketball Earn Double-Overtime Conference Victory

Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi men's basketball team was back in action Friday night, extending their win streak to three games, defeating conference opponent Lesley 78-72 in double overtime.

Delhi would jump out to an early lead, starting the game on a 9-3 run. Lesley would continue to inch closer, eventually taking the lead midway through the first half, entering the break with a four-point lead.

Similarly, to their last two games, the Broncos would need a second-half comeback. In a familiar position, Delhi would make the adjustments needed and would stay in striking distance. Despite not leading for the entirety of the half, the Broncos would find themselves tied in the final minute, sending the game to overtime.

In a contentious back-and-forth battle, one overtime period would not be enough to separate the two sides. It would take another in which Delhi would complete the comeback and finally pull away with the victory.

Delhi's top performers included senior Isiah Barnes, leading the way with 21 points, 14 rebounds, and 9 assists. Senior Warren Davis added 18 points, and senior Lester McCarthy provided an additional 15 points. The squad improves to 5-6, 2-0 in conference play, and will take on Utica away on Saturday, Dec. 7.
