Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi men's basketball team returned to conference action Sunday afternoon, coming up short to UMPI.

It would be an even contest for the entirety of the first half that saw both sides trading baskets. The Owls would hold a narrow lead for the majority of the half before the Broncos made a late push to tie the contest up at the half. 

The second half would bring much of the same as the back-and-forth battle continued. UMPI would start the half strong, holding a brief lead and maintaining it despite several Delhi runs. The Owls would hold strong and capture the narrow victory 74-66. 

Delhi's top performers included senior Lester McCarthy leading the way with 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals. Senior Isiah Barnes posted a double-double with 14 points along with 10 assists, and first-year provided an immediate spark off the bench with 10 points and 7 rebounds in just 14 minutes of action. 

The Broncos fall to 6-10, 3-2 in conference play, and will take on Maine Maritime away on Saturday.
