Bangor, ME - The SUNY Delhi men's basketball team returned to conference action Sunday afternoon, defeating Husson.
Husson would be one of Delhi's toughest opponents of the season, entering play at the top of the North Atlantic Conference standings, undefeated on the year in conference play. It would be Delhi starting the game fast on an 11-4 run, jumping out to the early lead. The Broncos fast start would give them a lead that they would continue to hold onto for the remainder of the half, entering the break ahead by double digits.
Delhi, in need of another strong half to complete the upset victory, would do exactly that. The Broncos would put up an impressive 38 points in the second half while holding the Eagles to just 61 points total on the day. Delhi would go the entire contest not trailing for a single second, earning themselves a 70-61 statement victory.
Delhi's top performers included junior Noah Colin, leading the way for the Broncos, posting a season-high 18 points on 7-12 shooting from the field. Junior Gustarling Louis continues to be a spark off the Delhi bench, totaling 16 points, and senior Lester McCarthy would finish in double digits with 10 points.
The Broncos improve to 7-11, 4-3 in conference play, and will take on VTSU Johnson away on Jan. 24th.
