Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi men's basketball team was back in action Tuesday night, falling to a familiar opponent in Morrisville.
A contest between two teams that were very familiar with each other having competed against one another the last couple of seasons as part of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC). Morrisville has since made the jump this season to competing in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC).
To start the season, it has been the stroy of halves for Bronco basketball, with the theme having continued on the night. As they have done for the majority of the year, Delhi had kept things close in a back-and-forth matchup in the first half that would only separate the teams by one point at the break.
The Mustangs would start the second half hot, extending the lead to double digits within minutes. Despite an attempt at a comeback, Morrisville would continue to pull away and secure the victory.
Delhi's top performers included senior Isiah Barnes, who totaled 12 points, and first-year Abdul-Jaleel Ibrahim added an additional 12, leading the way for the Broncos. The squad falls to 2-5 and will take on RPI away on Sunday, Dec. 1.
