Johnson, VT - The SUNY Delhi men's basketball team returned to conference action Friday night, capturing a thrilling one-point victory over Johnson.
The Broncos would enter play fresh off a victory against top-seeded Husson, looking to keep the momentum rolling against the Badgers. Johnson would make the initial push, going on a 16-0 run just 5 minutes into the contest to take the lead. The Badgers would remain in control, entering the break ahead by 9 points. Delhi has been no stranger to making second-half comebacks and would answer the call once again. The Broncos would flip the script, going on a 15-0 run of their own 5 minutes into the half. It would be a back-and-forth battle for the remainder of the half down to the final seconds. Junior Gustarling Louis would get the final say, swishing home the game-winning jump shot with just seconds remaining.
Delhi's top performers included senior Lester McCarthy, leading the way for the Broncos, posting 24 points to go along with 6 steals. Senior Brennan Heaven totaled 15 points as Louis added 16 points off the bench.
The Broncos improve to 8-11, 5-3 in conference play, and will take on Lyndon tomorrow.
