DELHI, N.Y. (October 30, 2021) – The top-seed SUNY Delhi women's volleyball squad utilized another three-set sweep of fourth-seed Cazenovia in Saturday's NAC West Tournament matchup to reserve their spot for tomorrow's divisional showdown with two-seed SUNY Cobleskill. The Fighting Tigers defeated the third seed SUNY Poly also in straight sets Saturday evening. The third matchup of the 2021 season between Delhi and Cobleskill will take place Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in SUNY Delhi's Floyd L. Maines Arena.

Cazenovia kept toe-for-toe with the Broncos in the opening set as head coach Beau Bracchy's team claimed a modest 25-20 win. The green and gold settled in quite nicely in the second frame, opening up a 13-2 lead that carried them to a 25-12 win. Delhi finished things up with taking five of the first six points in game three and stretching its lead to as many as eight points, which decided the outcome, 25-17. The Broncos improved to 21-5 overall, while also marking their third win of the year on Caz, all three-set sweeps.

Stephanie Burke and Lexi Taylor both led with nine kills, as Burke contributed nine digs and Taylor eight with three block assists and a .350 hitting percentage. Witchney Clersainville chalked up six kills on a .417 hitting percentage with just one error, issuing one block solo and one block assist. Setter Grace Thomas set up 30 assists with nine digs, adding a pair of kills. Libero Rebecca Heuler was the team leader in digs with 28 and in service aces with three. Delhi finished the night with 34 total kills for a .174 hitting percentage, including a whopping .355 percentage in the second set on 14 kills with just three errors.

The Broncos have defeated the Fighting Tigers twice this season, both being four-set decisions and beating them most recently during last Sunday's tri-match while hosting Cobleskill and Poly. SUNY Cobleskill posted impressive wins down the stretch to earn the second seed for the tournament, including knocking off the Wildcats last Sunday, overcoming a 14-11 fifth-set deficit to nab a 17-15 deciding win. The winner of Sunday's match moves on to face the winner of Sunday's NAC East playoff between Northern Vermont Johnson and Maine Maritime on Saturday, Nov. 6 at the East winner's site.
