UTICA, N.Y. (September 8, 2021) - SUNY Delhi volleyball picked up their second straight win tonight in a convincing showing on the road at Utica in four-set fashion. After dropping the opening set 24-26, the Broncos responded loudly by winning the next three consecutive frames. Delhi improves to 2-2 after starting the year with a pair of defeats.

Delhi had set point in the first set, only for the host Pioneers to run off three straight for the opening win. The Broncos retaliated with a more sizable 25-17 victory in the second frame. The third game proved to be the gamebreaker with a tetered 24-24 score, in which Witchney Clersainville's kill and Chloe Elsenbeck's service ace pushed the Broncos over the top, 26-24. The green and gold sealed the deal with their biggest win of the night in game four 25-14.

A big part of the Broncos' strength Wednesday was their 14 service aces, led by libero Kaylin Hamilton's four and three apiece from Elsenbeck, Marie Julian, and Grace Thomas

Thomas and Bailee Jones put up big numbers in the score column yet again in the win. Thomas finished with a double-double, stacking up 22 assists and 17 digs, with eight kills to boot. Jones managed to push across seven kills and 13 digs to add to her strong start at Delhi. Hamilton's impact can't be overlooked either, with the freshman posting 25 digs and four assists. Clersainville and Elsenbeck tallied five kills, with Elsenbeck contributing 12 digs.

"I thought the key for us tonight was on the front end of each point," said head coach Beau Bracchy. "Whether it was serve or serve receive we put ourselves in good position. Our spot serving helped keep them out of system over the four sets we played."

The Broncos are back in action Monday, September 13th with first serve at 6:30 p.m. as they travel to Morristown, NJ to battle the Saint Elizabeth University Eagles in their third straight road match looking to keep the winning streak alive. They return home the following night hosting Mount Saint Mary at 7:00 p.m.
