Eight-Game Win Streak Stalled at Hartwick

ONEONTA, N.Y. (October 5, 2021) - The SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team took a short trip over the mountains to night to go up against the Hartwick Hawks. The Broncos saw their eight-match win streak snapped in straight sets to an equally-potent Hartwick program, moving to 12-4 overall.

Delhi started off the first set keeping close pace with Hartwick, but after a short time-out the Hawks pulled away. Delhi was able to fight back from nine points down to end the first set 25-22 in the Hawks' favor. The Broncos watched an 8-6 lead slip away in set two with Hartwick snagging seven straight points and 19 of the next 24 for a 25-13 score. Hartwick had match in grasp ahead 24-20 in set three, but the resilient Broncos took three straight before folding in a 25-23 set. 

Stephanie Burke led the Broncos in kills on the night with ten and held the highest kill percentage at .276. Leading in the assist column was Grace Thomas with 20, along with two digs and one block assist. Rebecca Heuler led in both digs and service aces for Delhi with 14 and three, respectively.

The Broncos are back on the road and NAC play Thursday night when they travel to SUNY Poly for a 7:00 p.m. meeting. Delhi then heads to Saturday's Castleton Tournament, playing Eastern Connecticut State and the host Spartans.
