NORTH ADAMS, Mass. (September 16, 2021) - The SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team was on the road Thursday night just over the border in Massachusetts to face off with MCLA. Despite the close set scores, the Broncos finished empty-handed with a 3-0 mark from the Trailblazers. The defeat ended Delhi's win streak at four matches in a stretch that produced victories in ten of its past 11 sets.

Delhi battled MCLA all night with set scores of 25-23, 25-22 and 25-18. The Broncos went point for point with the Trailblazers, but each time MCLA was able to pull ahead late to take the sets. Delhi unfortunately was guilty of 20 errors and seven service errors that proved damaging to the Broncos when trying to rally back.

Stephanie Burke was a strong offensive player at the net for the Broncos, leading the team with a dozen kills for the match. Witchney Clersainville added seven kills, as well as three block assists. Defensively, Rebecca Heuler had a team high for the match picking up 19 digs and striking two services aces. Grace Thomas and Chloe Elsenbeck matched those ace totals, with Thomas again leading the assists category with a match-high 34.

The loss tonight brings Delhi to a record of 4-3. The Broncos will be back in action on Tuesday when they hit the road to Pennsylvania to play Keystone at 7:00 p.m.
