Clersainville Charts Second NAC Defender of the Week

WATERVILLE, N.Y. (October 25, 2021) - SUNY Delhi women's volleyball senior Witchney Clersainville (Spring Valley, NY / Spring Valley) earned her second North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Defender of the Week  this season for her strong showings in the Broncos' 3-0 week. It opened with a three-set win at Bard on Tuesday and then a pair of NAC West wins over SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY Poly Sunday to celebrate her senior day and give Delhi the top seed and hosting rights to next weekend's NAC West Tournament. SUNY Delhi is 19-5 and 8-0 in conference play with one more regular season test Wednesday at home versus Utica at 7:00 p.m.

Clersainville and the Broncos opened the week on the road at Bard, where she posted two block assists and drilled five kills for a 3-0 win. Against Cobleskill to open the NAC West tri-match Sunday, Clersainville targeted seven kills along with three digs and one block assist to beat the Fighting Tigers in four sets. Prior to their SUNY Poly matchup Clersainville was recognized as the team's lone graduating student-athlete, then treated her family, friends, and fans in attendance with a match-high ten kills, three block assists, two digs, and one assist all in a matter of a three-set sweep of the Wildcats. 

As of Monday evening, the host Broncos are slated to play the first NAC West Tournament match on Saturday, Oct. 30 at 3:00 p.m. versus fourth-seed Cazenovia, followed by the two-three matchup of SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY Poly at 5:00 p.m. The advancing teams will play on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Complete information on the NAC Women's Volleyball Tournament will be available on the conference's website at nacathletics.com.
