Men's Basketball collects Fifth Win in a Row after beating Cazenovia 95-90

Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi Men's Basketball team (13-7,6-3) took down NAC opponents Cazenovia 95-90. The Broncos secured their fifth win in a row and remain undefeated through their nine home games this season.

The Green and Gold continued to shoot the ball well through the first half, going 43.9% (18/41) from the field including six made threes. They also played solid defense on the other side of the court, forcing four turnovers with three steals and four blocks. Mavenson Therneus and Jacob Beach played extremely well, both putting up double-digit points. Therneus led the team with 13 points and six rebounds. He was all over the court with five of his six rebounds coming from the offensive side. Beach also was a big factor, recording 11 points, three rebounds and two steals.

The Wildcats would knock on the door most of the second half, bringing the lead down to six multiple times. But the Broncos were resilient again, not letting Cazenovia inch their way back in. This is when Beach took over, scoring 19 second-half points to finish with his career-high 30 points.

Delhi shot even better in the second half, going 48.5% (16/33) from the field. Four players ended in double-digit points as Delhi has been on a run of great shooting. Therneus recorded 24 points with nine rebounds, while Lester McCarthy and Isiah Barnes combined for 24 points.

They will shift their attention to January 28th when they host SUNY Cobleskill at 3:00 PM.
