Men's Basketball out battles SUNY Poly at Home, Winning 79-66

Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi men's basketball team (12-7, 3-5) took down NAC opponents SUNY Poly 79-66 on Friday Night in Delhi. The men's team has now won four games in a row and sit in the second spot in the NAC West Division standings.

At the end of the first half the Broncos had built a small 36-31 lead. Six players recorded points as the Green and Gold played unselfish ball on the offensive side. They would have nine assists compared to Poly's four at the break. Jacob Beach and Isiah Barnes have continued to lead in scoring with eight each. Mavenson Therneus also had a great first half with six points and a team-high seven rebounds.

The Broncos would stretch their lead out in the second half as they forced 10 turnovers, which resulted in 15 points. But the Wildcat's never went away, making it a single-digit lead with around five minutes left. Delhi would hold them off as Naphtali Regilus hit two crucial three-pointers down the stretch.

Every Delhi player that touched the court found the bottom of the net. Lester McCarthy and Beach would end with the team-high in points with 18 each. Both have been big scorers for Delhi all season as both guys rank in the top 8 of the NAC for points per game. Therneus would end with a team-high 11 rebounds and eight points as Barnes poured in 11 of his own.

The Broncos will be right back in action in Delhi on January 21st, taking on NAC opponents Cazenovia at 3:00 PM.
