Men’s Basketball Fall to NAC opponent Husson 85-78
Bangor, Maine - The SUNY Delhi men's basketball (8-6,2-2) team traveled to play the Husson Eagles in the first leg of a two game road trip and were defeated 85-78. With the conference loss the Broncos fall to the third seed in the NAC West.
 
After a sluggish start to the first half, the Broncos put together a 10-0 scoring run to grab their first lead of the night with six minutes left. They would go back and forth untill a late offensive dry spell allowed Husson to go into the half with a 35-30 lead. Delhi had seven different scorers led by Mavenson Therneus and Marven Louissaint who combined for 12 points. They shot 35.3% (12/34) from the field as 20 of their points came from inside the paint. 
 
Delhi would come back into the second half in similar fashion, this time unable to find the spark that brought them back the first time. The Broncos came into this game leading the NAC with 85.6 points per game but were held to 78 in this matchup. Three players ended up with double-digit points including Mavenson Therneus who led the team with his season-high 22. Lester McCarthy and Jacob Beach would combine for 28. 
 
The Broncos will move on to UMPI in another NAC matchup tomorrow Saturday, January 7th at 3 PM.
