Men’s Basketball takes down NAC East Leaders UMaine Farmington 85-63 at home

Delhi, NY - SUNY Delhi men's basketball (10-7,4-3) took down NAC opponents UMaine Farmington 85-63 after an incredible overall effort in Delhi. The Broncos move to (6-0) at home which puts them tied for second in the NAC West standings. 

The Broncos came into the first half with momentum from last night's win, playing all-around great basketball to pull ahead 46-26 at the break. They shot the ball extremely well, going 50% (8/16) from three and 54.3% from the field (19/35). Alongside shooting well, Delhi played lockdown defense on the other side, forcing UMaine to shoot 34.5% from the field (10/29) and 18.2% from deep (2/11). Senior Jacob Beach led the way for the Broncos with 14 points as he shot 100% from both the field and from the perimeter. Pablo Quinones and Lester McCarthy combined for 20 points as they both hit three threes each. 

The Broncos kept their foot on the gas pedal in the second half of the game, maintaining their double-digit point lead.  Four players for Delhi ended with double-digit points led by Jacob Beach's team-high 24 points. He had a superb day shooting the ball, ending his day 81.8% from the field, only missing two shot attempts. Quinones and McCarthy combined for 30 points while pouring in seven threes. The Broncos starters led the way today, scoring 72 of their 86 points. 

They will look ahead to Tuesday, January 17th when they take on Hartwick at 6:00 PM in Delhi.
