Men's Basketball wins thriller over SUNY Canton on Isiah Barnes last-second winner

Canton, NY - The Broncos (7-3, 2-1) complete the sweep of conference opponents over the weekend after defeating SUNY Canton 77-75 on Sunday. Point guard Isiah Barnes would cap off the back-and-forth thriller with a floater to win the game as the time expired.

In the first half, neither team was able to pull away with both teams making seven three-point baskets and shot 32% from the field. The Broncos would grab a small lead in the middle of the half as Fauzi Cizmesija-Ulme and Pablo Quinones hit back-to-back three-pointers. But Canton wouldn't go away easily forcing eight lead changes.

After the Roo's racked up their biggest lead of the night at eight points with 2:39 remaining, the Broncos would come storming back to retake the lead 38-37. Lester McCarthy would cap off a (9-0) scoring run to finish the half with a big three-pointer. He would lead the team at the half with 10 points, four rebounds and two blocks. Seven players were able to grab a basket, including Fauzi Cizmesija-Ulme who went three-for-five from deep.

The Green and Gold would come into the second half picking up where they left off. They went on an (11-5) scoring run, opening up another small lead. The rest of the half would be back and forth as the Broncos fought their way back into the game. With 34 seconds remaining, McCarthy would get sent to the line. He would make one of two to tie the game at 75 a piece. Delhi would then play excellent defense on the Roo's possession and get the ball back with four seconds remaining in regulation. Going the length of the court, point guard Isiah Barnes would try a jumper from around the free-throw line. Barnes drained it and won it for the Broncos as the time expired on the clock.

Five different Broncos scored in double-digits, with McCarthy having a team-high 18 points. Jacob Beach put up 15 points and 12 rebounds for his third double-double of the season. Cizmesija-Ulme would finish with 12 points while Mavenson Therneus and Pablo Quinones both ended in the double-digits.

The Broncos are headed for a short winter break and will be right back at it against Utica on December 29th for a tournament contest.
