Men’s Basketball Moves to 7-0 at Home after Big 92-79 Win over Hartwick

Delhi, NY - SUNY Delhi Men's Basketball (11-7, 4-3) took down Hartwick 92-79 as the Broncos offense exploded. The Delhi starting five once again controlled the game, with everyone scoring in double-digits and combining for 82 of the teams 92 total points to win their third in a row.

Delhi came out in the first half and shot the ball extremely well, pushing their lead to as high as 16. They would use a nine point scoring run just three minutes into the game to establish a comfortable lead, going into the half 51-37. Mavenson Therneus and Lester McCarthy were unstoppable, combining for 25 as the Broncos shot an impressive 50% (20/40) from the field. Point guard Isiah Barnes was dishing out assists to everyone, collecting five in the half.

In the second half, the Green and Gold were able to stretch their lead out as they continued to shoot better. They went 61% (19/31) from the field as the starters scored 39 of their 41 second half points.

The Delhi starters were unstoppable with Therneus leading the way with 20 points and five rebounds. McCarthy finished his solid performance with 18 points, five rebounds and four assists. While Barnes ended just one rebound shy of a 17-point, double-double. Pablo Quinones and Jacob Beach also played big roles as they combined for 27 points as Beach ended with his fifth double-double of the year.

The Broncos will look to keep it going at home when they host NAC opponents SUNY Poly on January 20th at 7:30 following the women at 5:30.
