Delhi Men's Basketball Grabs first NAC win toppling NVU-Johnson 95-58

Johnson, VT - The Delhi (6-3, 1-1) men's basketball team picked up their first conference win by defeating NVU-Johnson 95-58 on Saturday afternoon. The Broncos were able to get the tempo up and force 22 total turnovers while capitalizing with 34 points on the other end.

Delhi was able to get going fast in the first half, going on their biggest run, eight points, just three minutes into the game. They shot the ball well, going nine-for-nineteen from deep. Lester McCarthy and Jacob Beach combined for 25 points through the first with five threes between the two.

The Broncos would continue to stretch out their lead getting it to the game-high 37 points with less than a minute remaining. The bench poured in 30 of the 51 second-half points, the second-most points they have scored in a half this season.

Delhi held the lead for all but 30 seconds of the game. Four players reached double-digit points led by McCarthy's 19 points. Jacob Beach also poured in 18 points, nine rebounds and two steals. Mavenson Therneus and Marven Louissaint had 12 each, combining for 24 total.

The Green and Gold will be right back with another conference game on Sunday, December 11th at 3 P.M. against SUNY Canton.
