Delhi takes down Castleton 77-63; Five Broncos score in Double-Digits
 

Delhi, NY - The Broncos (4-2) defeated Castleton University 77-63 on Sunday afternoon in Delhi to win their second game in a row. The Green and Gold struggled to shoot the ball but wouldn't be stopped, putting up 20-second chance points.

Delhi took the lead early and ran with it for the length of the game, leading for over 39 minutes. After a tough first half, the Broncos held a 33-26 lead at the break. They found themselves up thirteen just six and half minutes into the game, but the Spartans rallied back to make it closer. Lester McCarthy's 13 points and five rebounds led the team. While Isiah Barnes added seven points and three assists.

The Broncos found their footing in the second half, improving on all facets of the game. They shot the ball better, going 45% from the field and 35.7% from deep. Delhi settled down and didn't give away a turnover through the half. Jacob Beach, Lester McCarthy and Mavenson Therneus all added double-digit points.

The Green and Gold would go on to pull away at the end, winning by 14, their second-biggest lead of the night. McCarthy ended with game-highs, 23 points and eight rebounds. Then it was Mavenson Therneus with a 12-point, 10-rebound double-double. While Beach's big second half put him in with 11 points and nine rebounds. Isiah Barnes also had a solid game, dishing out the game-high seven assists and adding 12 points in over 37 minutes.

"Today wasn't pretty on the offensive end for us at times, but I'm happy we were able to get the win." said head coach Zack Thomsen after the game.

The Broncos will look to add to their win streak when they take on Clarks Summit on November 30th at 7 PM in Delhi.
