2024 Volleyball Season Preview

Delhi, N.Y. - The SUNY Delhi Volleyball team will begin their 2024 campaign when they open their season on the road on Friday, August 30, against Farmingdale State at 7 p.m.

The team is coming off a 7-17 season, finishing 5-5 in conference play, earning them a spot in the conference playoffs. Since joining the North Atlantic Conference (NAC), the squad has successfully reached the playoffs each season. The team ultimately fell to eventual conference champion Eastern Nazarene in the quarterfinals to conclude their 2023 campaign.

The returning unit for Delhi is headlined by fifth-year students Katelyn Babcock, who led the team with 54 blocks to go along with 95 kills, and Sage Renneisen, who led the team with 166 kills. Senior Jaiden Venute, who led the team with 318 assists, and sophomore Madelyn Diep, who led the team with 268 digs, are key contributors to the team's success.

Junior Laurel Poston posted 183 assists, and sophomore Finley Benn recorded 67 kills last season. These are two players to watch this upcoming season.

The squad will look to return to the NAC tournament, led by Beau Bracchy, who enters his 20th season as Delhi’s women’s volleyball head coach, while Justine Hoffmann enters her fourth season as assistant coach. Colleen Darby, an alumnus of the program who ranks in the Top 5 for blocks at the program and was a member of two conference championship teams, will be joining the staff as a volunteer assistant coach.
