Women's Volleyball Collects Wins against Johnson And Lyndon To Open Conference Play

Lyndon, VT - The SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team recorded back-to-back conference wins in their weekend tri-match 3-2 (25-11, 25-17, 16-25, 17-25, 15-13) to Johnson and 3-0 (25-14, 25-3, 25-14) to Lyndon.

It was all Delhi to start jumping out to early leads in each of the first two sets and never looking back, taking both sets commandingly 25-11 and 25-17. Johnson, in an attempt to avoid the sweep, flipped the script on the Broncos, taking the next two sets 16-25 and 17-25. The deciding fifth set lived up to the hype that saw a back-and-forth match that saw Delhi narrowly taking the set 15-13 victory.

In match two against Lyndon, the Broncos would ride that momentum, displaying their best performance all season long, dominating the match from start to finish, and collecting the 3-0 sweep.

Strong performances across the two matches came from fifth-year Sage Renneisen recording a combined team-high 23 kills, junior Audrey Logsdon added a combined team-high 38 digs, and senior Jaiden Venute totaled a combined team-high 29 assists.

The Broncos move to 7-16, 2-0 in conference play and will next play away at Cobleskill on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. for another conference contest.
