Women's Volleyball Falls To Oneonta, 3-1, In Home Opener

Delhi, N.Y. - The SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team came up short, falling 3-1 (22-25, 12-25, 25-21, 20-25) to SUNY Oneonta, moving their record to 2-2 on the season.

The Broncos battled hard in a back-and-forth first set that resulted in a 25-22 defeat. The Red Dragons carried that momentum into the second set commandingly, taking victory (25-12). Delhi refused to go away, earning themselves a needed victory in the third set (25-21).

Strong performances came from sophomore Noelle Placanica recording a team-high 6 kills, senior Jaiden Venute totaled a team-high 11 assists to go along with 4 digs, and last week's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Defensive Player of the Week junior Audrey Logsdon earned a team-high 13 digs.

Delhi launched a comeback in the fourth set to make things close before ultimately falling (25-20), earning Oneonta the 3-1 victory. The Broncos move to 2-2-0 and will next play Alfred St. at home on Friday, Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. as Oneonta moves to 3-1-0 on the season.
