Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team came up just to Marywood Wednesday night 3-2 (25-14, 25-22, 20-25, 24-26, 11-15).
In the first two sets, Delhi got out to early leads and never looked back. In set one, the Broncos jumped out early, 10-3, maintaining that lead to complete the set 25-14. Similarly, in set two, Delhi found themselves up 10-5, finishing the set 25-22. However, with their backs up against the wall, Marywood delivered to avoid the sweep, taking the next set 20-25. Still needing another victory to force a deciding set, the Pacers found themselves in a back-and-forth contest in which they narrowly came away with a 24-26 victory. The Pacers would ride that momentum into the final set, earning an 11-15 victory to complete the comeback.
Delhi's top performers included senior Jaiden Venute, who accounted for 34 of the team's 40 assists; junior Audrey Logsdon recorded 22 digs and 9 aces; and sophomore Finley Benn posted 16 kills and 17 digs.
The Broncos move to 3-9 on the season and have a quick turnaround tomorrow as they take on King's College at home at 6 p.m.
