Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team fell 3-1 (16-25, 25-21, 14-25, 16-25) to Union College on Wednesday night.
Union College entered the night on a roll with an impressive 8-3 record. Union started strong, going up early in set one, and never looked back, maintaining a comfortable lead and coasting to a 16-25 victory. Delhi flipped the script in the second set; in a back-and-forth set, the Broncos pulled away late to take the set 25-21. Union would shut the door on any comeback attempt commandingly, taking the next two sets 14-25 and 16-25.
Strong performances came from fifth-year Sage Renneisen recording a team-high 9 kills, junior Laurel Poston totaled 11 assists, and junior Audrey Logsdon earned a team-high 17 digs.
The Broncos move to 4-12 and will next play Alfred St. and Lycoming on Sunday, Sept. 29, in an away tri-match.
