Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team was back in action Monday night for Senior Day, falling 3-1 (27-29, 14-25, 25-19, 15-25) to Utica to finish up the regular season.
Delhi entered play on a three-game win streak, looking to remain hot. The Pioneers would have plans of their own, taking the first set narrowly in a back-and-forth set by a score of 27-29. Utica would ride that momentum into the next set, taking a commanding 2-0 lead. In an attempt to avoid the sweep, the Broncos played their best set, taking the 25-19 victory. Utica would ultimately come away with the result, defeating the Broncos in the fourth and final set.
Strong performances came from sophomore Madelyn Diep, who recorded 13 kills along with 19 digs; fifth-year Michaella DeCapua totaled 30 assists; and fifth-year Sage Renneisen broke the program record for career kills, adding 15 on the night.
The Broncos move to 11-18, 6-0 in conference play and will next host the NAC West Championship on Sunday, Nov. 10.
