Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team was back in action Sunday afternoon, coming up short against Cobleskill 3-2 in the NAC West Championship.
In the biggest game of the season, both sides came to play in a back-and-forth contest from start to finish. Delhi had much success against the Tigers in the regular season, collecting victories in both matches. The Broncos would start out hot, taking the first set 25-20. The Tigers would respond and take the following two sets to take a 2-1 lead. Needing to take a set to keep their season alive, Delhi would answer the call to force a deciding fifth set. In the biggest set of the year for both sides, Cobleskill would narrowly escape with the victory and advance to the NAC Championship.
Strong performances came from sophomore Madelyn Diep, who recorded 13 kills along with 19 digs; fifth-year Michaella DeCapua totaled 41 assists; and sophomore Finley Benn added 14 kills of her own.
The Broncos finish the season 11-19, 6-0 in conference play, and will shift their attention to next season.
