Castleton, VT - The SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team splits their weekend tri-match, defeating Plattsburgh 3-0 (27-25, 25-21, 25-13) and falling 3-0 (18-25, 21-25, 19-25) to Castleton.
In game one, the first set was a back-and-forth contest that saw Plattsburgh leading late 23-20 before Delhi mounted a late comeback to steal the first set (27-25). The Broncos carried that momentum with them for the rest of the match, increasing their margin of victory in each of the following two sets to complete the sweep. Delhi's top performers included sophomore Madelyn Diep, who posted 7 kills and 17 digs, and fifth-year Michaella DeCapua, who accounted for 15 assists and 10 digs.
In game two, the script was flipped as Castleton earned a victory in the first set and never looked back, completing a sweep of their own. Despite the result, the Broncos kept things close late in each of three sets: 18-22 in set one, 20-20 in set two, and 17-23 in set three.
The Broncos move to 3-7 and will next host Hartwick on Monday, Sept 16.
