Women's Volleyball Falls to Morrisville 3-1

Morrisville, NY - The SUNY Delhi women's volleyball team fell 3-1 (14-25, 24-26, 25-23, 16-25) to Morrisville St on Tuesday night.

A match between two teams that were very familiar with each other having competed against one another the last couple of seasons as part of the North Atlantic Conference (NAC). Morrisville has since made the jump this season to competing in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC).

Morrisville started strong, jumping out to an early lead, commandingly taking the first set 14-25. Delhi would be more competitive in the following two sets, staging a late comeback in set two that would fall just short, dropping the set 24-26. Set three brought about another close set in which the Broncos narrowly edged out the Mustangs 25-23. Morrisville would ultimately win the match, pulling away with the victory in the fourth set.

Strong performances came from fifth-year Sage Renneisen recording a team-high 11 kills, junior Laurel Poston totaled 18 assists, and junior Audrey Logsdon earned a team-high 12 digs.

The Broncos move to 4-15 and will next play at Elmira on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 6 p.m.
