Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi men's soccer team was back in action Sunday afternoon, recording the 4-0 victory over Cobleskill in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) West Final.
In the biggest game of the season, the Broncos came to play, matched up against Cobleskill, a side that they had defeated twice already earlier this season. Delhi continued their dominance over the Tigers and wasted no time in doing so. Big players perform in big games, and sophomore captain Roberto Velasquez-Osorio did just that, opening the scoring for Delhi in the 21st minute while finishing the day as the program leader in career points. First-year Kian Flynn just minutes later would add a goal of his own to extend the lead to 2-0. The score would remain the same as the teams would head into the break.
45 minutes away from capturing the NAC West title, Delhi continued to find success, adding two more second-half goals, starting with senior Michael Williams Jr. recording his fourth goal of the season. Similarly to the first half, the Broncos would add another goal in even quicker fashion off a finish from senior Erik Kleczkowski. Delhi would go on to earn the shutout off a strong defensive performance and a combined 3-save effort from sophomores Salvatore Meloni and Joseph Musso.
The Broncos improve to 9-5-4 and will host Thomas for the NAC Conference Championship on Saturday, Nov 9.
