Men's Soccer Defeats Potsdam 1-0, Earning First Win

Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi men's soccer team secured their first win of the season, defeating Potsdam 1-0, while earning their second shutout in three games.

The Broncos wasted no time getting on the scoreboard as sophomore Roberto Velasquez-Osorio found the back of the net off an assist from junior Matt Serrao. Velasquez-Osorio records his second goal in two games, sitting alone as the team's lone goal scorer on the year.

One goal was all that was needed in this contest; Delhi's bright spot to start the season remains to be the squad's stout defense. Sophomore goalkeeper Salvatore Meloni played a big role in that charge, posting a 6 save shutout.

The Broncos move to 1-0-2 and will next play Canton tomorrow on a short turnaround at 1 pm as Potsdam moves to 1-1-1.
