Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi men's soccer team drops home contest 4-1 to SUNY Oswego.
A match that was the second of a back-to-back, wrapping up a tough week for the Broncos's competing in their third contest over a five-day span. Oswego, in similar fashion, was also coming off a match the day before, earning a 2-1 victory over RPI.
Straight from the kickoff, it was all Oswego earning a penalty kick less than 20 minutes in that was slotted home by Kyle Gehnrich. The Lakers Scout McCumiskey would add another goal to make the contest 2-0 heading into the break. The second half was much of the same, with the Lakers dominating play and adding two more goals of their own. Matthew Sturman tallied his first of the year just minutes into the half off a corner kick. Hamid Alhamid, minutes after entering the game for the first time, also found his first goal of the season, assisted by Luke Brosokas. The Broncos would prevent the shutout as first-year David Clapper recorded his first collegiate goal with just 3 seconds left, making the final score 4-1.
The Broncos move to 1-3-3 and next take on Utica away on Wednesday, Sept 18 at 4 p.m.
