Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi men's soccer team stays hot and undefeated in conference play, defeating Johnson 3-0.
The Broncos started fast once again, going ahead early as sophomore Matthew Pozo recorded his team's leading 6th goal of the year on a pass from junior Matt Serrao just 2 minutes into the contest. Despite Delhi's control for the majority of the match, the Badgers would limit the damage, keeping the contest close 1-0 at halftime.
It would be much of the same in the second half, with Delhi dominating possession and finishing with 26 shots to Johnson's 4. Sophomore captain Roberto Velasquez-Osorio would take matters into his own hands, scoring two second-half goals, both assisted by Matt Serrao, accounting for all three Delhi assists. The Broncos defense would remain strong throughout to earn the shutout and 3-0 victory.
The Broncos move to 6-3-4, 5-0 in conference play and will next play Old Westbury home on Oct. 16 at 3:30 p.m.
