Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi men's soccer team was back in action Sunday afternoon, coming up short 3-0 against the No. 21-ranked Cortland Red Dragons.
The Red Dragons would start fast, with Matt Shultz scoring his 13th goal of the season just 13 minutes into the contest. Despite Cortland's control for the majority of the match, the Broncos defense was up for the challenge, keeping things close, only trailing 1-0 at the break.
In the second half, the Red Dragons would score two more goals, the first coming from Yasin Choukri's 8th of the year off of a penalty kick. Roughly 10 minutes later, Cortland would add another by way of an own goal. Sophomore goalkeeper Salvatore Meloni was a bright spot for the Broncos, collecting 7 saves and keeping Delhi in the match throughout.
The Broncos move to 7-5-4, 5-0 in conference play and will finish out the regular season against SUNY Cobleskill away on Saturday, Oct 26. At 1 p.m.
