For our 10th edition of the Bronco of the Week in 2023, we showcase two track and field athletes who showed out at the 2023 Hamilton Outdoor Track & Field Invitational at Pritchard Track on Saturday, April 1.

Both freshmen had incredible days with Deron Davis qualifying for the All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Championships and Alexa Wolcott setting another new SUNY Delhi record!

Deron Davis - (Schenectady, NY / Schenectady High School) - Men's Track and Field

Deron Davis ran a 10.85 in the 100-meter race, finishing in second place right behind teammate Joshua Jeffes. With that mark, the freshman marks the fourth-fastest Delhi time ever and qualifies him for the AARTFC. Davis also ran the 200-meter dash where his winning time of 21.76 also qualified him for the AARTFC in that event and drops in at number five all-time.

Alexa Wolcott - ( Wyoming, NY / Pavilion High School) - Women’s Track and Field

The big highlight from the day came from freshman Alexa Wolcott who ran her first collegiate 10,000-meter race on the track. Wolcott ran among the top three through the race, finishing in second place with a time of 42:18.58. That time set a new Delhi school record, eclipsing the record set by Gabby Dello in 2008 by less than a second. The record stood for over 10 years, set in 2012.

Both student-athletes will be back on the track on April 8th at the Utica Pioneer Spring Invite.
