Junior sprinter Joshua Jeffes is headed to the NCAA Division III Men's Outdoor Track and Field Championships after qualifying for the second year in a row. The championships will be held May 25-27 at the Polisseni Track & Field Complex at St. John Fisher University in Rochester, New York.

Jeffes will be competing in the 400 meters after finishing in the top 22 declared student-athletes in Division III throughout the year. He ran his qualifying time at the Bison Outdoor Invitational in Bucknell earlier this season, where he crossed the finish line in 47.57. This time would be good enough to break his own SUNY Delhi program record in the event which he set last year.

The sprinter has been a leader for the team all year by setting the standard for the team. Jeffes recently won two individual victories in the 200- and 400-meter dash at the North Atlantic Conference Championships and then placed second overall in the 400 meters at the AARTFC, his second-best time all year. He would be selected as one of the two 2022-23 SUNY Delhi Athletes of the Year after his performances in both the outdoor and indoor track seasons.

Jeffes, Delhi's first-ever All-American, will be making his second trip in two years to the outdoor NCAA Championships. Last year, he placed 15th overall in the 400-meter dash. His event is scheduled for 5:30 on Friday, May 26th.
