Men and Women's Outdoor Track & Field Championship preview

Delhi, NY - The men and women's track and field team will travel to the North Atlantic Conference Championships at Colby College Alfond Track this weekend.

The meet begins with the hammer throw on Saturday. This is the only event of the day; all other events will be held on Sunday. Field events kick off at 10:00 am while track events start with the 110/100-meter hurdles at 11:00 am.

Delhi's men's team enters the weekend defending champs as last year's NAC Coach of the Year Zach Brown will look to repeat for the third championship in a row. Voted by all coaches, the conference ranked them the top team coming into the weekend.

The men's team is heavily represented in the sprinting department, led by junior Josh Jeffes who has been on fire all year. He was the only Bronco to compete in the 2023 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships and will be returning as the outdoor NAC Rookie of the Year.

The men's sprint side has had multiple people break out this year. Freshman Deron Davis who has hit big personal records has made a significant impact, as well as senior Morgan Condon who has been heating up on the hurdles.

On the distance side, John Amenta and Aidan Cutting had a great individual outdoor season. Amenta will compete in the 5000 meters while Cutting will race in the 800 meters, 1,500 and 5,000.

They Delhi women are also heavy on the sprinting side with returning athletes Kadie-Ann Whyte and Sabrina Richards leading the way. Richards will run in the 200- and 400-meter races while competing in multiple relays. Whyte will race in the 100- and 200-meter races as well as some relays. The women's 4x100 has been unstoppable led by both Whyte and Richards breaking the record twice this season.

On the distance side, freshman Alexa Wolcott and Marissa Lombardi will compete in the 5,000. While Kitty Messina will lead the throws team.

Individual event winners earn a spot on the First Team All-Conference squad while second place finishers earn Second Team All-Conference honors. Team champions will also be awarded.
