Freshman Miranda Cole breaks Delhi 100-Meter Record at Utica

Utica, NY - A few Bronco Track and Field athletes headed to Utica for a last-chance meet hosted by Utica University in search of a tune-up after a weekend off leading into the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships this week.

The highlight of the meet came from freshman sprinter Miranda Cole after she broke the school record in the 100-meter dash. Cole, who broke the all-conditions school record at the Conference Championships last week, ran a wind-legal time of 12.43 seconds. That mark breaks the official FAT school record set by Madeeah Oranchak back in 2018.

Senior Sabrina Richards also ran a season-best in the 400 meters en route to finishing fifth in the meet. Richards broke the 60-second barrier for the first time this spring running 59.92 to qualify her for that event at the AARTFC Championships and extended her season.

For the men, Joshua Jeffes won the 400-meter dash, setting a facility record with a time of 48.31 seconds. Jeffes is already slated to run in the AARTFC Championships this week where he will look to improve his national ranking in the 400 meters and ensure a trip to the NCAA Championships in Rochester, NY on Memorial Day Weekend.

Also running well for the men was senior Morgan Condon. He ran a lifetime best in the 110 high hurdles with a wind-aided 15.35 seconds and then placed third in the 400 hurdles running near his lifetime best with a mark of 55.97.

The team will take their full list of qualifiers to Susquehanna University on Wednesday and Thursday for the AARTFC Championships. They will look for one last chance to improve their marks and try to punch their tickets to the NCA Championships.
