Josh Jeffes finishes outdoor track season at NCAA Division III Championships

Rochester, NY - Delhi's Track and Field's junior Josh Jeffes traveled to St. John Fisher University for the Division III NCAA Outdoor Championships over a four-day stretch starting on Wednesday, May 24th. With this appearance, he became the first SUNY Delhi athlete to compete in back-to-back NCAA Championships.

How it Happened:

After coming into the event ranked 18th, Jeffes competed in the 400-meter preliminary race Friday afternoon where he ran a (48.28), placing 18th overall just 10 spots from All-American status. That would wrap up his year as the top nine times would advance to the final the next day.

The junior had another electric season in the green and gold, winning SUNY Delhi Male Athlete of the Year. He broke school records in the indoor 200, 300 and 400 meters and outdoors in the 400 meters. He also led the indoor 4x200 relay to the school record in that event and his performance in the 300-meter dash indoors ranks as #2 in NCAA Division III history. Jeffes won two individual victories in the 200- and 400-meter dash at the outdoor North Atlantic Conference Championships and then placed second overall in the 400 meters at the All-Atlantic Region Championships.

With another record-setting year in both his outdoor and indoor seasons in the books, Jeffes will be looking to get back to the championships next year and take another step.
