All-Time performances send Broncos towards Track and Field Championship season

Boston, MA - The SUNY Delhi track and field teams traveled back out to Boston University for a last chance qualifier meet for selected team members that were looking to improve national or regional rankings. The trip was well worth it as a school record fell again and many others hit regional standards or personal bests.

Joshua Jeffes continued his fantastic development since coming to Delhi. Jeffes, who holds Delhi school records in the 200, 300 and 400 meters indoors, lowered his mark in the 400 meter distance. He placed ninth overall in the meet that drew teams from all over America with a time of 48.10. Jeffes had set the program mark two weeks before when he ran 48.52 on another track in Boston. That time will improve his national rank from tenth to seventh as the NCAA Championships approach in two weeks. Jeffes and freshman teammate Deron Davis also ran in the 200 meter dash where they both posted finishes of 22.04 seconds.

Senior Aidan Cutting extended his indoor season another week with a fantastic performance in the men's mile. Cutting dropped his season best by five seconds, running 4:18.72 to qualify himself for the All-Atlantic Region Track and Field Conference (AARTFC) Championships next week at the Armory in NYC.

For the women, Senior Sabrina Richards made good use of her third career trip to Boston. She ran a new indoor lifetime best for the 400 meters with a time of 1:00.40, making her the second fastest women in Delhi history in the event. Freshman teammate Zoe Rodi also jumped into program history with her time of 1:00.88 which ranks as the fourth fastest time in program history.

Next up for the Broncos is the AARTFC Championships at the Nike Armory in NYC. The Broncos that have qualified will run there looking for one more shot at all-time marks, school records and the chance to qualify for the NCAA Championships to be held the following weekend in Birmingham, Alabama.
