Cobleskill, NY - The SUNY Delhi women's soccer team earned a 5-0 victory against Cobleskill on Saturday, recording their fourth shutout of the year.
Delhi dominated the game from start to finish, controlling a bulk of the possession while outshooting the Tigers 12 to 2. Cobleskill would keep the contest close for a large portion of the first half before junior Shaniyah Myers would open the scoring in the 35th minute on an assist from Kaitlyn Hines. The goal would give the Broncos a 1-0 lead that the team would carry into the break.
In the second half, Delhi would break out, scoring four more goals to extend their lead. Myers would lead the charge again, scoring her ninth goal of the season. First-year Mckenna Krauss would follow, recording her first collegiate goal. 20 minutes later, Estherline Carlson totaled her seventh goal of the year to put the Broncos ahead 4-0. In the closing minutes, first-year Taylor Fife would put the game to rest, earning her first collegiate goal.
The Broncos move to 10-5, 3-1 in conference play and will next host the NAC West Division Championship against VTSU Johnson on Sunday, Nov 3.
