Samantha Schmidt was named the head women’s soccer coach prior to the 2025 season, as she begins her first campaign with the Broncos in 2025.

Schmidt, a former student athlete at Russell Sage College, began her coaching career as a graduate assistant in 2022 before being promoted to assistant coach the following year. As assistant coach, Schmidt assisted in the day-to-day running of training programs while implementing an effective recruiting plan for prospective student-athletes. In the fall of 2024, Schmidt made the transition to a competitive program at Vassar College. She served as their assistant coach, helping the team reach the second round of the Division III NCAA Tournament. 

In her time as a student-athlete, Schmidt was a four-year member of the women's soccer team at Russell Sage. She was a four-year starter and served as a team captain both as a senior and a graduate student. Schmidt graduated as the program's all-time leader in starts with 72 and was named First Team All-Empire 8 and to the Empire 8 All-Tournament Team in 2021.

Schmidt, who holds a USSF D License, graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and her Master's in Childhood/Special Education.
