Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi women's soccer team collected a 3-2 victory over fellow North Atlantic Conference opponent Thomas as they celebrated their senior day.
Thomas wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, finding the back of the net less than just a minute into the contest as Emily Gutierrez scored her second goal of the season. Delhi would respond with an equalizer before halftime when junior captain Shaniyah Myers slotted home her third goal of the season on a pass from first-year Estherline Carlson.
Delhi would go on to control the majority of the second half, breaking the tie in the 62nd minute as Shaniyah Myers recorded her second goal of the match, putting the Broncos ahead 2-1. Estherline Carlson not long after would put the game to rest, scoring her fourth goal of the year. The Terriers would continue to hang around, making things close, cutting the lead to 3-2 on a goal from Yaribel Pena. The Broncos would remain strong the rest of the way and hold on for the 3-2 victory.
The Broncos move to 7-4, 1-1 in conference play and will next face Johnson home at 1 p.m. tomorrow for a conference matchup.
