Women's Soccer Soars to 3-0 Victory Over ESF

Delhi, NY - The SUNY Delhi women's soccer team collected the 3-0 victory against ESF on Friday night, earning their third shutout of the year.

The contest was a fairly even match for the majority of the way that saw the Broncos with the slight advantage in possession and scoring opportunities. ESF would keep things tied up for a good portion of the first half while outshooting the Broncos 12 to 11 on the night. However, Delhi would make their chances count starting with first-year Belvia Konodji scoring her second goal of the year on a pass from junior Shaniyah Myers in the 35th minute. The goal would give the Broncos a 1-0 lead that the team would carry into the break.

In the second half, Delhi would turn to their bench for scoring once again as first-year Lauren Dengler would record her first collegiate goal. Less than seven minutes later, sophomore Riley Schmidt would extend the lead scoring way of a penalty kick. First-year Eve Foster totaled five saves in her first career shutout as Delhi captured the 3-0 victory.

The Broncos move to 9-5, 2-1 in conference play and will next face Cobleskill away tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.
