Women's Soccer Defeats Pratt 3-2

Brooklyn, NY - The SUNY Delhi women's soccer team was back in action Saturday, earning a 3-2 victory over Pratt.

Delhi started fast, jumping out to an early lead when 20 minutes into the contest, junior captain Shaniyah Myers found the back of the net on an assist from junior Gabrielle Avallone. The goals would continue to come with the Broncos extending their lead just 5 minutes later as first-year Madison Thorbourne continued her hot stretch, recording her third goal of the season, assisted by Shaniyah Myers. The score would remain at 2-0 as the teams' headed into the half. 

Pratt was able to shift the momentum in the second half, finding themselves back into the contest coming way of Kat Thomsen's 5th goal of the season, assisted by Alyssa Trujillo. Madison Thorbourne would make her presence felt again, closing the door on a Pratt comeback attempt with her second goal of the game in the 72nd minute. Pratt would add a late goal in the closing minutes off the foot of Kat Thomsen once again, assisted by Claire Hook. However, it wouldn't be enough as time expired with Delhi holding on for the 3-2 victory. 

The Broncos move to 5-4, 0-1 in conference play and will next play conference opponent SUNY Cobleskill home on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 6:30 p.m.
