Women's Soccer Drops Away Match To Mt. St. Vincent

Bronx, NY - The SUNY Delhi women's soccer team fell 6-1 to Mount St. Vincent on Saturday evening.

The Dolphins controlled the majority of the match, maintaining a bulk of the possession while outshooting the Broncos 24 to 5. Mount St. Vincent would strike first early as Alicia Rodriguez found the back of the net for her fifth goal of the season on a pass from Lena Marin. Delhi would respond immediately with a goal of their own, with first-year Madison Thorbourne slotting home her fifth goal of the year to tie the contest at one apiece. The Dolphins would have an answer of their own, scoring two more goals before halftime Victoria Gamarra in the 24th minute and Emily Toepfer in the 30th.

It was much of the same in the second half as Mount St. Vincent would continue to build onto their lead, scoring an additional three second-half goals. Shayln Pryor would collect her second of the season, Aubrey Gulbin would follow, and Taylor Gabat would cap off the night with her first of the year.

The Broncos move to 8-5, 2-1 in conference play and will next face SUNY ESF at home on Oct. 25 at 6 p.m.
