Women's Soccer Cruises to 5-2 Victory

North Adams, MA - The SUNY Delhi women's soccer team is back in the win column, earning a commanding 5-2 victory over MCLA.

A match that consisted of much offense to go around as both teams combined for a total of 56 shots, 35 from Delhi and 21 from MCLA. Despite the large offensive output from both sides that saw 7 total goals, the first half saw a 0-0 tie for the majority before Gabrielle Avallone scored her second goal of the season in the winding minutes to give the Bronco's a 1-0 lead heading into halftime.

MCLA would eventually respond and find themselves right back into the game as Catelyn Hodge found the back of the net, knotting up the score at one apiece. It didn't take long for a Delhi answer, as just five minutes later Estherline Carlson put Delhi back in front on an assist from Jordan DeNinno, opening the floodgates for the squad to net three more goals in less than ten minutes. Jordan DeNinno (76), Estherline Carlson (80), and Kailey Leach (82) would all add additional goals to secure the victory for the Broncos.

The Broncos move to 2-2 and will next play at home, taking on Hartwick on Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 7 p.m.
