Softball defeated in NAC Doubleheader at Cobleskill

Cobleskill, NY -  Delhi softball was back in action again this afternoon with an away conference doubleheader against the SUNY Cobleskill Fighting Tigers. The Cobleskill bats helped them take game one, 7-3 before another sustained offensive performance helped them pull away in a 5-inning game two, 15-1.

The Broncos (3-27,0-5) wrap up their eighth game in the past five days.

How it Happened:

Game One: Delhi 3 | Cobleskill 7

Trailing 4-0 in the fourth inning, Kayla Beers would single to collect the team's first hit of the game. The visiting Broncos would push a run across the plate in the 5th, started by a Lauren Zecca single. But Cobleskill would run the lead to 7-1 after the home half of the 5th. They would rally in the sixth after a Danielle Seymour single, followed by doubles from Beers and Katelynn Rose. Gabriella Narcisse would also double for the Broncos in the 7th but wouldn't be enough.

Rose would pitch four innings in the loss before Seymour finished off the final two frames for Delhi.

Game Two: Delhi 1 | Cobleskill 15

Delhi would get on the board first in game two with a single by Beers, who would score when Rose hit her second double of the day. Unfortunately, that would be it for the Broncos as Cobleskill would use multi-run innings to shorten the game to 5 innings. Beers would finish with two hits and Seymour would add a double in the third inning.

Seymour and Rose would split pitching duties with Seymour recording the loss in game 2.

What's Next:

Delhi will return to action with a North Atlantic Conference game at SUNY Poly on Friday, April 21 at 4:00 PM.
