Softball picks up first win of 2023 season in doubleheader

NAPLES, FL - Delhi softball continued their trip in Florida; falling to St. Elizabeth (NJ) 5-2 in the first game and grabbing a 10-1 win against future North Atlantic Conference members Lesley (MA) in game two. The win over Lesly marks the Bronco's first of the 2023 season.

In the first game, the Broncos would fall behind 1-0 after the first inning but would rebound by grabbing two runs in the fourth. St. Elizabeth would then push runs across the plate in the fifth and seventh innings to lead 5-2. Rhianna Iglesias collected an R.B.I. by doubling in Emmalee Keyser. Pitcher Katelynn Rose pitched all seven innings for the Broncos; striking out five opposing batters.

Delhi would pick up their season's first win by defeating Lesley in the second game of the day. The Broncos would use multi-run 3rd and 5th innings to extend the lead over the Lynx as the Bronco's baserunning was exceptional. Danielle Seymour pitched another great game, recording five strikeouts while only giving up four hits in this game.

Delhi will play tomorrow, March 14th at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM against Nazareth and Rutgers-Newark in Florida.
