DELHI, N.Y. (January 30, 2018) – The SUNY Delhi men's basketball team ended their home season and their productive month of January in satisfying fashion Tuesday night with a 91-60 win over Davis. The Broncos ended the month at 7-5, winning six of their last eight, to stand at 15-12 with three games to play in the regular season. Ranked 14th in the latest USCAA Division II Coaches' Poll, Delhi looks to grab a bid for the USCAA National Tournament at Penn State Fayette.

Tuesday's contest was tipped off by head coach Zack Thomsen honoring departing players Damon Denteh (Rosedale, NY / Martin Van Buren) and Stephen Harten (Cortlandt Manor, NY / Lakeland). Denteh will move on from SUNY Delhi after earning his Associate's in Childhood Education, while Harten will get his Bachelor's in Construction Management. Harten will also go down in history as SUNY Delhi men's basketball's first-ever four-year student-athlete. The two made the most of their final game in front of their home crowd, with Harten just missing a double-double with eight points and nine rebounds, and Denteh nine points and four assists, making a team-high three 3-pointers.

Payton Dean finished tied for the game lead with 19 points, shooting 6-for-8 from the floor and a perfect 7-for-7 from the charity stripe, as well as grabbing four rebounds. Jordan Fragale also flirted with a double-double with nine points and ten assists, while reserves Jake Slobe connected on a trio of threes for 14 points and Carlos Ithier made a pair of triples for 11 points. Terrance McBride added nine points, with Saquan Goland producing six points and nine rebounds and Glenn Butler Jr. scoring four points. William Knight collected six rebounds.

The Broncos shot 44.2 percent (34-for-77) to the Falcons' 30.9 percent (21-for-68), and led, 25-7 in points off turnovers after forcing Davis into 26 turnovers. After the Falcons scored the first two points of the game nearly two-and-a-half minutes in, Delhi took control for the rest of the game, even stretching its lead to as much as 43 points late in the second half. The Broncos also finished with leads in points in the paint (42-24), fast break points (14-10) and bench points (44-29).

SUNY Delhi finishes its season on the road, starting with a western New York road swing at Alfred State on Feb. 10, followed by Villa Maria on Feb. 11. The Broncos end the regular season at SUNY ESF on Feb. 13 before embarking back to Villa Maria for the NIAC Tournament, starting Feb. 23.

The USCAA National Championship will field ten teams, with Delhi eligible for one of the six at-large bids. The other four spots will go to host Penn State Fayette and the three conference winners from the PSUAC, YSCC and HVIAC.
