DELHI, N.Y. (January 16, 2018) – Sophomore guard William Knight (Valley Stream, NY / Valley Stream South) was named the American Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) Men's Basketball Player of the Week after a pair of career performances versus College of St. Joseph and NHTI. Knight's contributions have him and the Broncos at 11-10, ranking 14th in the latest USCAA Division II Coaches' Poll.
Knight dropped a career-best 40 points against the Fighting Saints on Wednesday, matching his previous career high of 22 points in the first half alone. Making nine 3-pointers and recording six steals and five assists, Knight set a new school single-game scoring record under third-year head coach Zack Thomsen. The Valley Stream, NY native then followed up by netting 27 points versus the Lynx on Saturday, connecting on seven triples and grabbing six rebounds.
Knight and the Broncos have a busy week, traveling to face Fisher on Wednesday and Maine Fort Kent on Friday, then returning home to host Alfred State on Sunday.
