Zack Thomsen Announces 2017-18 Recruiting Class

DELHI, N.Y. (August 2, 2017) – SUNY Delhi men’s basketball head coach Zack Thomsen has announced the addition of ten players to his recruiting class for the 2017-18 season. Coach Thomsen and the Broncos will look to improve upon their 13-17 mark from the 2016-17 campaign. The third-year head coach has expressed great confidence in the potential of this recruiting class:

“Going into this recruiting cycle I felt like we had three areas of weakness that badly needed to be addressed. First, we needed to add players with a defensive mindset, that fit in with the up-tempo style that we want to play. We also were very small last season and needed to add size particularly on the wing. Lastly, we needed a much more balanced scoring distribution than we had last season.”

“I think we've improved in all 3 of those areas. We've added players that take pride in the defensive end of the floor. We've also added a lot of size and athleticism at the wing positions, and I believe we have a lot more potential offensive weapons than we had a season ago. I'm excited that we've been able to bring in a number of student-athletes who come from winning programs, who can help to grow and shape our culture here.”
